Photo booths are no longer small cubicles in the middle of the mall that give you small strips of pictures.
Now they’re one of the many ways that people entertain their guests at events & parties.
And here’s a secret…..they’re always a hit!
But if you bring in a professional photo booth company, you may blow your entire budget on just that.
So what do you do?
You make your own DIY photo booth.
I promise it’s way easier than you think.
Here are a couple of insider tips before you begin to plan your photo booth.
Tip 1: Find the right spot. You want to make sure that your Booth is easy to find but that it isn’t in the way of everything else.
Tip 2: The biggest challenge to photo booths is having someone to take the picture.
If you’re using a phone to take pictures then a Bluetooth control like this one is the perfect solution. It allows the person to take the picture with a click of the button hidden in their hands.
DIY Photo Booth Ideas
Creating a photo booth with a chalkboard backdrop not only looks great in photos but it’s an awesome way to make it truly yours.
Fake Wall Booth
The idea of creating a fake wall for your photo booth is truly cool.
You can think outside the box & create a wall to looks like grass, like this beautiful tutorial from East Coast Creative.
Or, you just use wallpaper as your backdrop & add some chair props.
Similar to the fake wall above, the staged booth can be set up to look somewhere you’re not.
For example, you can use a tropical tablecloth to make it appear like you’re on the beach. Or use blue wallpaper along with fake palm trees to create the tropical feel.
Kara from Kara’s Party Ideas, really knocked it out of the park with her tropical flamingo staged booth.
Have your guests take their pictures of themselves already “framed”.
Your frame can be made from just about anything to match your theme.
Here are some ideas:
- Decorated hula hoop
- Imitation Polaroids
- Decorated frame with flowers
- Make it into a giant birthday card
- Imitation Instagram post
- Decorate it to match your theme. For instance if it’s a Mickey Mouse party, then you can decorate it to look like Mickey. Or put Mickey prints all over it.
