Host A Mouthwatering Cookie Swap Party In Just A Few Steps

Whether it’s the holiday season or you’re just in the mood to throw a party there’s always a good time to throw a cookie party.

Cookie parties, otherwise known as cookie exchanges or cookie swaps, are when you get a group of friends together to exchange cookies.

Tips For Throwing A Cookie Swap

Food

Although the main focus of these parties is the cookies, you want to be sure to throw in some other foods too.

Why?

Simply because you’ll want something to break up all the sweets.

You can provide appetizer type foods such as,

  • Spinach artichoke dip
  • Cheese & cracker tray
  • Meatballs

Drinks

Don’t forget to add drinks to the menu. You want to have a mix of drinks from water to tea.

This is the perfect time to also throw a hot chocolate bar.

Let Guests Know Expectations

When you send your invitations out, be sure to let guests know what to bring. Don’t assume that they’ll know to bring their own cookies to share.

As a rule of thumb each guest should bring enough cookies for each person to take home 2 cookies from each tray.

Accessorize

Add some decor to your party with a few simple tips.

  • Add colorful cookie bags, boxes, or tins to the table for your guests to take home.
  • Use mini chalkboards as food tents so that your guests know what type of cookies there are.
  • Have a variety of platters & even towers to put cookies on.
  • Add a simple DIY backdrop

Family Friendly

If you’re planning a family friendly party where kids will be, there’s a fun way to get them involved as well.

You have a cookie decorating station for kids.

Place a variety of cookies such as sugar cookies & Oreos on a tray for the kiddos to choose from.

Place a host of different decorating items out such as sprinkles, chocolate, & icing.

Then let their imaginations run wild.
